Terms & Conditions
Legalities
As stated in the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, all animals must have veterinary consent PRIOR to their initial appointment.
If a new condition is developed whilst the animal is receiving physiotherapy for an existing condition or maintenance, a new veterinary referral may be required before treatment can be continued.
Whilst every care will be taken to provide the best possible treatments for the animal, the treatments are carried out entirely at the owner's risk.
The registered owner of the animal is fully responsible for the behaviour of themselves and their animal and any event that should arise as the result of the action of the animal at all times.
Animal Requirements
Owners are responsible to contact SAVP of any changes to the patients condition, medical treatments, medications or as advised by their vet during the course of treatment, as well as if the veterinary surgeon has requested the treatments be suspended or stopped or any reason.
Owners are required to present their animal in a suitable state to receive treatment i.e. clean, dry, no matting present, no fleas or other.
We please ask owners to allow their animal to urinate/defecate before the session begins.
We ask you feed your animal no less than 2 hours prior to your appointment.
Payments
All appointments are to be paid day of treatment. If you are claiming as a complimentary therapy/through insurance, sessions must be paid day of and you can then claim the payment back to yourselves.
Cash payment is accepted at the time of the appointment.
Full refunds will be given if an appointment is cancelled more than 48 hours before the commencement of the appointment.
If you cancel your appointment less than 48 hours prior to the appointment, you will be charged 50% of your appointment fee, cancelling less than 24 hours before the appointment or failing to attend will result in the full appointment fee being charged.
Sarah Abbott Veterinary Physiotherapy reserves the right to cancel the appointment at the time and retain the full appointment fee if:
1. The animal is not available at the time of the appointment.
2. The animal is unable to be treated at the time of the appointment, e.g. they are showing signs of illness or infested with fleas.
3. The animal is aggressive or dangerous and this has not been previously discussed with the owner.
If SAVP is unable to commit to an appointment, the best effort will be made to rearrange the appointment to another suitable time with both parties.
